The Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with legendary trumpet star Wynton Marsalis celebrates the holiday season performing classic instrumental arrangements from the books of swing era stars Duke Ellington, Count Basie, and Benny Goodman.

Featuring the sensational 23-year-old, 2010 thelonious monk competition winner Cécile Mclorin Salvant, whose ability to refract the styles of such iconic performers of that era as Bessie Smith and Billie Holiday with 21st century freshness and soulfulness, gives new meaning to Marsalis’ mantra: “all jazz is modern.”
